Best Street Food Places In Old Delhi

Natraj Dahi Bhalle

An iconic shop to eat at when in Chandni Chowk. As soon as you get down from the metro and walk towards the main road, the shop at the corner of the very first alley you cross is the Natraj Dahi Bhalle wala. For a meat-loving ferocious carnivore like me, praising a mere dahi bhalla, that too not a vegetarian delight person, is an oddity in itself. But you eat here once, and I bet the taste will linger in your mouth for a while, like the taste of a lover's kiss.

They take your order on cash and by the time you blink your eyes...a plate has been served in front of you. There is a finesse with which the dahi is poured over the bhalla and the red mithi chutney is added. And finally, a dash of the masala over it. Trust me !! The masala is everything ! It's amazing in taste and adds a totally different flavour to it.

A must visit in Chandni chowk.

Khemchand Adesh Kumar’s Daulat ki Chaat, Nai Sadak

Daulat ki Chaat, Old Delhi. A winter dessert from Lucknow (where it's called nimish) that used to be made for the ruling aristocracy of Nawabs. It's made of whisked milk and cream- much lighter than a mousse (I would say its texture is about as light as whisked up egg whites) and covered with a top saffron infused layer. If that's not regal enough the key ingredient in this dessert is morning dew. If you ever wondered what it was like to eat a cloud- this I think is the closest anyone can get.

Old Famous Jalebi Wala

Located at the Dariba Kalan Road in Chandni Chowk, the jalebis here are the real deal. A look at those lovely swirls frying in hot oil, then delicately dipped in sugar syrup and you just can’t wait to eat them. This shop has been around since 1884. The jalebis here are fried in home-made desi ghee. The founder of this shop, Nemi Chand Jain, is known to have experimented with many recipes before deciding on the final one. The jalebis are soft and are cooked over coal-fire. Another thing that interests me is that they use desi khandsari sugar and not the regular one to make the syrup. That’s what we call pure pleasure.

Karim's

This a hidden gem of delhi and every foodie must visit this place its like macca for delhi foodies i had the chance to visit this place and grabbed their famous saag chicken dal makhani and seekh kebab and their mutton kebab

 Lala Babu Chaat Bhandaar

If you are craving to eat authentic chat then Lala Babu Chaat Bhandaar is the place to head to.  The place is located opposite McDonalds and is very easy to spot.  I would suggest that you must try the gobi muttar samosas here.

Amritsari Lassi Wala

Beat the heat with this refreshing drink. The creamy and frothy lassis served at Amritsari Lassi Wala is just out of this world. There is reason why its been around for so long. Try it yourself if you have doubts!
